These characters have a greater influence than a bigger bad, and may be the reason a big bad is a big bad. These characters are the overarching antagonist or protagonist of the story, meaning they usually have one of if not the most influence, but they still manage to improperly use their power and sometimes accidentally reveal themselves as the bigger bad whilst making reputation damaging choices. Just like big bads, it is likely that they will lose their support and/or following that they once built up, causing the people following, supporting, or working for them to betray them, including big bads themselves.
