Chloe Hunter is the main antagonist of the That's So Raven episode, "True Colors".

She's the manager of Sassy's, a store within the town mall, who in spite of seeming like a cheerful, reasonable woman at first glance, is actually a secret racist who refuses to hire Raven for the job simply for being black, in spite of having immense fashion skills.

She was portrayed by Devon Odessa.

What Makes Her Pathetic?[]

  • In spite of Raven having numerous skills fit for the job (i.e.: designing her own clothes, and organization), and doing an incredible during the series of tasks, Chloe refused to hire Raven as an employee at her store simply for being black. Raven learning about this is played for drama and is portrayed as a sad moment.
  • On top refusing to hire black people, she also refused to hire Latino and Asian people too.
  • On Chelsea's first day as an employee, Chloe sent Chelsea to keep tabs on Raven (at the time, disguised as an adult man) simply because of her distrust of black people.

What Makes Her a Pinhead?[]

  • During various points, she doesn't even try to hide her racism, especially when talking with other white people:
    • On Chelsea's first day on the job, Chloe smugly sent Chelsea to keep tabs on a bald black adult man (actually Raven in disguise), claiming that certain kinds of people need a little... more attention. And when Chelsea claimed Chloe was referring to bald people... Chloe responds by saying, "I think you know what I'm saying", all with smile on her face, even winking when saying the line, as if she was expecting Chelsea to have the same attitude as her towards blacks.
      • It should also be noted that she was ignoring numerous other customers who needed clothing advice.
      • She pretends to give Eddie an application in front of "the manager", but when "he" was out of sight, Chloe openly tells Chelsea that she (Chloe) would toss out Eddie's application, and didn't hire black people. Also, when Chelsea asks Chloe to repeat the last part (so her hat with a hidden camera can capture her on tape), the latter does so without hesitation or even getting suspicious on why Chelsea would ask her to repeat it. This provides Chelsea with the evidence she needs to expose Chloe and her discrimination, and Chloe's promptly fired as the manager with the company issuing a public apology.
  • She also seems to have poor business and management skills, considering she was willing to hire Chelsea for the job and provide her with luxuries simply for being white, even though Chelsea had filled out in her form that she had no experience, special skills, and didn't even know why she wanted the job. Plus, during the series of tasks, Raven was shown to be far better at organizing clothes than Chelsea was, and had better fashion and social skills towards customers and the clothes she picked out for them. Hiring Chelsea as her employee likely would have led to numerous unsatisfied customers, and bad press for herself and her store.
  • There's no good reason why she had to needlessly reject not only black people, but also anyone of color, and it likely would have been detrimental to her career in the long run, as word would have eventually got out about Chloe's racism, regardless of whether Raven and her friends intervened and exposed her. She would have been exposed and fired either way.
  • When Chloe decides to talk with "the bald black adult man" (actually Raven), the "adult man" claimed that "he" was the new general manager of Sassy's, and she easily falls for the ruse. Granted, Raven's disguise was incredibly convincing, but still.
    • She also falls for "the manager"'s claims over the Black History Month sale, and upon being questioned over hiring people of color, she claimed that she received a wonderful black applicant via Raven. However, when Chloe calls Raven on her phone, Raven's phone -- which the latter had on her -- would ring at the exact same time, and yet she fails to piece together that the fake manager was actually Raven.
