Fletcher is a minor supporting character in the sci-fi animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks. He is an ensign who presents himself as cool but is actually a selfish idiot who endangers others with poorly thought out plans.
He is voiced by Tim Robinson.
What Makes Him Pathetic?[]
- He has low self-esteem that causes him to make very poor decisions that endanger his crewmates.
- When he breaks the core to the shields, he tries to cover it up and get the blame pinned on somebody else.
- When Mariner and Boimler find out he lied about the core being stolen, he threatens to pin the blame on them if they don't help him cover up his mess.
- He attempts to talk Mariner and Boimler into getting him back on the Cerritos after he is kicked off the Titan.
What Makes Him a Pinhead?[]
- He links an isolinear core to his brain in an attempt to make himself smarter on the logic that computers being smart means that doing such would make him smart. Not only did it obviously not work, but his brainwaves end up corrupting the core.
- When trying to cover up that he broke the core, he hid the core in his bed, covering it with a single sheet. This makes it easily found by Boimler, exposing his lie instantly.
- As Boimler points out, Fletcher's attempt to blame the missing core on the Drookmani could have started a war.
- While he gets an undeserved promotion to the Titan, he loses it in only six days, getting fired for throwing trash into the warp core, preventing him from being a Karma Houdini.
- Overall, he is so incompetent of a worker that he eventually gets transferred to Starbase 80, which is considered the worst punishment for any member of Starfleet.
