Harley or Sergeant Harley is a supporting antagonist of the 1994 live-action Disney film Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book.
He was portrayed by Ron Donachie.
What Makes Him Pathetic?[]
- He's a nasty scoundrel who doesn't hide his joy in hurting others.
- He's quite racist and mockingly refers to Mowgli as his "little brown brother" twice.
- He attacks and tortures Mowgli to get him to tell him where the dagger came from.
- During the search for Mowgli, he tries to attack him with his weapon until Mowgli kicks him in the balls.
- He willingly betrays Colonel Brydon, simply because he doesn't feel valued enough in his mind, and also threatens his daughter with a knife so that Mowgli will show him the way to Monkey City.
- He tries to chase Mowgli into the forest, but this causes his death when he falls and sinks into quicksand.
What Makes Him a Pinhead?[]
- Although Mowgli clearly can't speak, he thinks he can make him speak by physically hurting him. He appears to be the only one in the army who doesn't know how to speak Indian even though he's... in India.
- When Mowgli manages to free himself from his bonds in the tree, he stupidly tries to chase him alone in the middle of the forest, without noticing the quicksand in front of him. This causes his death when he falls and sinks completely into the quicksand. Although he wasn't aware of the quicksand in front of him, it was still reckless to run into the middle of the forest all alone.
Trivia[]
- He and Buldeo are the only villains in Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book to be Pathetic Pinheads.
