So many of us lead double lives. In the city, I'm just another functionary. But in the bush, I am God.
~ Harry

Hahutu Mkwesa, referred to by his western name Harry, also known as Little Gustave, is the overarching antagonist of the 2007 action horror film Primeval. He is a sadistic warlord from Borundi who initially appears to be friendly but reveals himself to be the antagonist at the end of the film.

He was portrayed by Dumisani Mbebe.

What Makes Him Pathetic?[]

  • He is a sadistic and warlord who is responsible for the brutalities of the Civil War, and he remorselessly kills anyone who gets in his way.
  • He captures the Shaman who turned against him and kills him by decapitating him with a machete, soon after he kills his wife and son with his gun.
  • When he reveals himself to be Little Gustave, he threatens and intends to torture them to obtain the video that would incriminate him.
  • When Aviva tells him that Jojo had to go to the hospital because he was injured, he callously ignores it and even mocks it, saying that young people like him die every day.
  • When they show up at Gustave's "lair," he threatens to kill Aviva if Tim is planning something.
  • When Tim and Aviva try to escape, he appears and shoots Tim, he only doesn't kill him because he runs out of ammunition and Gustave appears.
  • Although his death was horrific, being brutally attacked by the Crocodile Gustave, it is not portrayed sympathetically, but rather karmically since he is responsible for Gustave having a taste for human flesh.
  • While Gustave is a bloodthirsty crocodile, he's simply an animal with no moral agency. Harry, on the other hand, is a despicable and megalomaniacal human being who derives sadistic pleasure from his actions. He's also indirectly responsible for Gustave's taste for human flesh due to the bodies that were left in the lakes during the Civil War.

What Makes Him a Pinhead?[]

  • He rules purely by fear and violence, not by intelligence. Any charisma he has is quite superficial and nothing special.
  • He kills the Shaman and his family near the news crew, as Steven was walking when he spotted the car carrying him and his men. This action ends up causing Stevens to record his heinous act, which the main characters intended to use to expose him. His own killing of the Shaman was idiotic, as it would have been better if he had sent a henchman to do it instead to avoid the risk of exposure.
  • When he and his henchman show up to supposedly rescue the remaining protagonists, he leaves the necklace that belonged to the Shaman in the car's rearview mirror, which makes Tim discover who he really is.
  • He insists on taking the laptop that had the recording of him, despite Tim explaining that they lost it (or it was possibly destroyed by Gustave in one of his attacks). Furthermore, Tim claims that he's not recognizable in the footage, but he ignores this and insists on taking the laptop because it was in a place where Gustave could be, making it unnecessarily risky. It would have been easier if he had killed them both outright, since they were the only ones who knew who he was and no one else did, and he would have left Jojo alive since he didn't even know who he was.
  • After Aviva attacks him with the pheromone liquid (used to attract Gustave), he fires randomly in various directions, which not only wastes ammunition but also risks waking up and attracting Gustave's attention. This causes his death when he sadistically shoots Tim, which causes Gustave to appear, and when the Crocodile smells the pheromones, he rushes to brutally devour Harry.
  • When Gustave appears, he stands there looking at the Crocodile and doesn't even try to sneak away until the crocodile notices his presence.
