“ | Jackie Jr.: Tony, please. I'm sorry. Please don't hang up. For my dad, if not for me. Tony: Well, he's been dead two years. As a matter of fact, the expiration date was last week, and on all your bullshit with that. |

~ Tony calling out Jackie Jr. for shamelessly using his father's name as a leverage. |
Giacomo Michael "Jackie" Aprile, Jr. (mostly known as Jackie Jr.) is the secondary antagonist of the third season of the HBO Television Series The Sopranos.
He is the son of DiMeo-Soprano Family's second (acting) boss Jackie Aprile Sr. and the nephew of capo Richie Aprile. He becomes increasingly involved with the Mafia despite his father wishing he stay out of the Mafia and Tony Soprano making it clear it will stay that way, leading to his death.
He is portrayed by Jason Cerbone.
What Makes Him Pathetic?[]
- He's never taken seriously as a real threat in the show instead he's more of an annoyance due to his sense of entitlement and his "tough guy" attitude.
- Despite his late father Jackie Sr. as well as Tony's wishes to stay out of the mafia lifestyle, he still desperately wants to join the DiMeo-Soprano crime family and rise up the ranks.
- Despite being the son of the former acting boss, he isn't respected at all by members of the family. Example of that is when Junior rudely dismissed him during a conversation with his uncle Richie.
- He's disrespectful to everyone including his mother, Rosalie.
- His relationship with Meadow is very toxic as he constantly lied to her and used her for assignments. He ended up cheating on her with a stripper.
- His tough act is proven to be nothing but a bluff:
- He peed himself out of fear during the benefit concert robbery.
- He cried to Tony over the phone and begged for his life only to get shut down.
- He is also a selfish coward as while fleeing, he left his best friend Dino to die after the card game heist went wrong.
- Because of Jackie Jr.'s actions, Tony was forced to order his death, compromising the promise he made to Jackie Sr. that he would protect and look after his son.
- His death was purposely done in a lackluster, insignificant and un-cinematic fashion.
What Makes Him a Pinhead?[]
- He dropped out of Rutgers University as he wasn't capable of succeeding despite it being his late father's wish.
- He's very stubborn as he never listened to Tony's numerous warnings to stay away from mafia activities. This lead to him getting beat up by an enraged and disappointed Tony after being caught in a rival strip club getting a lap dance.
- Even though the "bachelor party" excuse wasn't convincing at all as Tony was able to see through it, he still used it a second time when encountering him.
- The most idiotic thing he decided to do is robbing a card game run by made men as he thought he would able to completely pull it off and get away with it. Instead the robbery went horribly with some of him and his crew barely making it out alive and him getting murdered shortly after.
- He murdered Sunshine, who was one of the players attending the card game for simply talking too much which caused an avoidable shootout. This shows how petty he could be.
- He easily lost to a child in a game of chess.
- He didn't notice Vito, who was extremely overweight at the time, quickly come from behind him.
Trivia[]
- So far, Jackie Aprile Jr. and Davey Scatino are the only Pathetic Pinheads from The Sopranos.
