Jeong Mi-hee (Korean: 정미희) is a supporting antagonist in the South Korean drama series The Glory. She is the abusive alcoholic mother of the show's protagonist, Moon Dong-eun.
She is portrayed by Park Ji-a.
What Makes Her Pathetic?[]
- She accepted a bribe from Park Yeon-jin’s mother to kick Moon out of her apartment and force her to live on the streets.
- She also helped cover up Moon’s bullying because Park’s mom was paying her to keep quiet.
- Years later, when Park finds Mi-hee again so she can use Moon’s mother against her, Mi-hee once again accepts money to ruin her daughter’s life.
- She gets drunk in public spaces often and shouts at the employees of restaurants, ultimately making her an even more unpleasant and unlikeable person.
- She uses Moon’s pyrophobia against her to win an argument by using a portable cooktop to set fire to Moon’s apartment, before then attempting to kill them both in a murder-suicide because of how much she hates her daughter.
- She tells Moon that she regrets not getting an abortion when she was pregnant with her.
- As she is being put in a psych ward near the end of the show, she still shows no regret for any of her actions and continues to insult Moon.
What Makes Her a Pinhead?[]
- In the flashback to Moon Dong-eun’s youth, when her mother agreed to help cover up the bullying happening on her daughter, she doesn’t understand how a contract works, and needs an explanation.
- She attempted to break into her daughter’s apartment after Park told her where Moon was, and even tried to fight the landlord of the residence when she was asked to leave.
- Mi-hee brings all the stuff she bought with the money Park gave her to ruin Moon’s life for the second time to Moon’s apartment, which she forced herself into, and taunted to her daughter how much money she made off of Moon’s suffering.
- She tells Moon that she will never let her have peace, since "blood runs thicker than water", which is a hypocritical statement since she is the most abusive mother to Moon.
