King Jellybean, also known informally as Mr. Jellybean, is the secondary antagonist of the Adult Swim animated series Rick and Morty episode "Meeseeks and Destroy". He was an anthropomorphic alien that looked like a jellybean, who turned out to be a child rapist as well as king of a poor medieval village, who was later killed by Rick Sanchez for attempting to rape his grandson Morty Smith.
He is voiced by Tom Kenny.
What Makes Him Pathetic?[]
- He attempted to rape Morty in the bathroom for no reason, and severely traumatized him in the process.
- Despite being bigger and stronger than Morty, Jellybean is overpowered by the show's deuteragonist and left beaten up in the bathroom while Morty makes his escape.
- It is later revealed that Jellybean is the King of the village Rick and Morty saved, and he attempts to approach them to "thank" them for their good work, although this was likely another ploy to attempt to rape Morty.
- After his death, it is heavily implied on-screen (and later confirmed by writers of the show) that Jellybean has had multiple child victims, and even kept photographs of his crimes.
- There is a giant statue of Jellybean standing next to a child in the village, likely constructed on Jellybean's orders for his own satisfaction.
What Makes Him a Pinhead?[]
- He attempts to rape Morty in a public bathroom, a place where anyone could have walked in and seen what he was doing.
- While it is possible that Jellybean manipulated the village crowd in order to become King, there is no on-screen proof of this, so this does not count as proof of intelligence. It is possible that the villagers, who are extremely naive and kind, simply were too trusting of Jellybean, rather than him doing anything to deceive any of them.
- He kept evidence of his crimes that was easily discovered after his death. The only reason the evidence was not shared with the public was because the two villagers who learnt the truth decided it would be better for people to remember what their King represented rather than who he actually was. Either way, the village would probably figure out who he really was eventually, as he had a statue of him massaging a young boy built before he died so people could see it.
