Kyosuke Higuchi is the main antagonist of the Yotsuba Arc in manga/anime Death Note.

After receiving the Death Note from Rem (under Light's orders), he became the Third Kira, and began using the supernatural weapon to eliminate threats to the Yotsuba Group.

He was voiced by Issei Futamata in Japanese and Andrew Kavadas in English. In the TV drama adaptation, he was portrayed by Shuji Kashiwabara.

What Makes Him Pathetic?[]

  • Unlike Light, who used the Death Note to mainly punish criminals, Higuchi used it for entirely selfish reasons.
  • He sexually harasses Misa Amane several times.
  • Many of his victims were innocent business owners, who were killed by Higuchi purely out of greed.
  • He murdered Arayoshi Hatori simply for wanting to leave the group.
  • He is a massive coward, as he pathetically threatened to kill himself in front of the Japanese police after he was cornered rather than facing his death with dignity.
  • Ultimately, he has no redeeming qualities and lacks any comedic or sympathetic traits, with even Light being disgusted by him.

What Makes Him a Pinhead?[]

  • He didn't even notice the camera set in his conference room, which Light could easily find out. As a result, all the evidence of his killings are exposed to L directly by the camera.
  • When Aiber disguised as Eraldo Coil scammed a large amount of money from Yotsuba, he never doubted whether Aiber was a spy, even after Shimura pointed it out.
  • He exposed his identity to Misa Amane by openly saying he is Kira to earn her favor, without even bothering to check if she was recording him. When Misa returned with the recording, he didn't realize anything was wrong.
  • His three fellow Yotsuba members Namikawa, Mido and Namikawa easily guessed that he is the Kira in Yotsuba.
  • He was fooled by Matsuda (who is one of the stupidest characters in the series) of all people, not just once, but twice.
  • He made the rushed decision to obtain the Shinigami Eyes without really considering the consequences.
