Marvin Trumble is the secondary antagonist of the 2024 survival horror game Crow Country. Spiteful and angry over getting his scam over the impossibly pure gold exposed, Marvin planned to betray and kill Edward Crow to take the money for himself, as well as anyone else who could incriminate him.

What Makes Him Pathetic?[]

  • He's a cowardly jerk whose first reaction upon learning his scam was inadvertently turning people into abominations was to make sure nobody could expose him having involvement in it rather than showing any concern or remorse.
  • He acts incredibly narcissistic, even when trying to feign affability, and centers any discussion topic around how it relates to himself.
  • He murders Harrison James for incredibly weak reasons, worried he may discover the truth because Mara talked to him, even though he showed no desire to kill Mara before, showing hypocrisy.
  • Holds Mara, a teenage girl, and Tolman at gunpoint, and likely would've shot them both had he not been killed by Julie pushing the vent cover.
  • He shows a lack of reflexes during his death, as he saw a vent grate wriggle, yet instead of moving away or trying to dodge, he just stands there and dies in the incredibly pathetic manner of getting hit by a vent grate of all things due to a woman who didn't even know he was there.

What Makes Him a Pinhead?[]

  • Even when trying to feign affability, everyone can tell there's something off about it, to the point any sneaky thing he tries to do is immediately suspected to be him due to how shady he comes off.
  • Despite working with gold, he doesn't understand how it works, unable to tell if people would be able to tell where it came from just based on how it looked.
  • He's the only character who should know Elaine yet couldn't recognize her in disguise, showing a lack of observation skills, considering her appearance changes amounted to dying her hair and aging a bit.
  • Within one conversation, he forgets Mara's name and calls her "Mary".
  • While he claims to be knowledgeable on guns, he has to ask which type Mara is carrying when it's right in front of his face and while trying to sneakily shoot at Mara during a puzzle, he shows his accuracy is horrible.

Trivia[]

  • His status as a Pathetic Pinhead is likely meant to juxtapose how Edward Crow, his business partner, is an incredibly sympathetic, likable and fairly smart man.
