Brigadier Mollusque-Lanceur III, or simply Mollusque-Lanceur, is a minor antagonist in Super Mario Odyssey, serving as the boss of Seaside Kingdom. He is the greedy king of the Gushens.
What Makes Him Pathetic?[]
- He selfishly hoards all the Sparkle Water in the kingdom, sitting atop the Glass Tower goblet and drinking it with a long straw to make sure no one else gets any.
- To further make sure no one else besides him gets any Sparkle Water, he plugged up the fountains that spray the Sparkle Water into the goblet.
- He ordered his minions, the Gushens, to harass the Bubblainians and vandalize the kingdom for seemingly no reason at all.
- When Mario and Cappy unplug the fountains, Mollusque-Lanceur tries to kill them, resulting in his death.
- Unlike most of Bowser’s minions, who attack Mario because they have been ordered to stop him, Mollusque-Lanceur only decides to stop what he’s doing and fight Mario after being personally annoyed by him, so his attempt to kill Mario is not just “following orders”, but rather him having a personal vendetta against the plumber that he wants to carry out with murder.
What Makes Him a Pinhead?[]
- By plugging up the fountain to stop anyone else from being able to drink the Sparkle Water, he also unintentionally prevents himself from being able to drink more Sparkle Water in the future, because he's stopped the source of the water from being able to produce more.
- He does nothing while Mario continues to unplug the fountains and hit him in the head with the large corks multiple times until he gets knocked off the fountain. It’s only after the fourth cork that he does anything.
