| “ | What he does with our products is none of our business. What is my business is keeping our family ahead of the rest. You're welcome, everyone! (Alador gets mad) Ugh, there you go, making that face. This is why I don't tell you things. With the Emperor's favor, we'll live like royalty in the new world, crowns and everything! | „ |
| ~ Odalia confessing to assisting Emperor Belos' Day of Unity plan for the sake of royalty. |
| “ | I told you before, Collector, I could be much more use to you than being a... "Mamadalia". Maybe we can talk about... remaking the Boiling Isles into something bigger and better! | „ |
| ~ Odalia to the Collector. |
Odalia Blight is a major antagonist in The Owl House.
She is the CEO of Blight Industries and the matriarch of the Blight family, being the wife of Alador Blight and the mother of Amity, Emira and Edric Blight. Aside from being a greedy businesswoman and abusive mother, she becomes worse the minute she admits to being aware of Emperor Belos' genocidal intentions but still supporting him anyway on her own terms.
She was voiced by Rachael MacFarlane.
What Makes Her Pathetic?[]
- Even in her early years, she already couldn't care less about anyone since she was apathetic to seeing Eda getting turned into an owl beast and being outcasted because of it.
- When she grew up, she founded a large weapon-selling company called Blight Industries and sold lots and lots of dangerous supplies to the elites of the Boiling Isles. She also forced her husband Alador to work nonstop for 5 whole years or else she'd make her own kids do the work instead, and she never let Alador have sick days, even firing half the staff as a result. This led to Alador spending little to no time with his family.
- She moulded her youngest daughter Amity into a bully by threatening to have her best friend Willow Park expelled from Hexside if Amity (who was only five at the time) didn't stop being friends with her, leading to Luz's lover becoming the rude girl she originally was in the beginning of the series.
- After she was made aware that Luz and Amity could still be friends, Odalia tricked the former into being the cannon fodder for Blight Industries' new products before trying to kill Luz with the Abomaton 2.0 during its demonstration, nearly killing her if not for Amity coming to her rescue in time.
- She sells a bunch of Abomatons to Emperor Belos as part of his plan to kill all witches and demons on the Boiling Isles, which she later reveals to the Hexsquad, King and two Coven Scouts (including her husband).
- She snitched on her family and the heroes out of spite when they stole an airship, which caused them to be shot down and almost killed.
- She shot an annoyed look at Alador when he was turned into a puppet by the Collector while trying to reunite with Amity, meaning she implicitly left him in a fate worse than death since she did nothing to save him.
What Makes Her A Pinhead?[]
- When working at Blight Industries, she openly told people how lethal the weapons the company sold were, which realistically would have made them uncomfortable to buy her products out of fear of getting hurt or killed.
- After becoming the maid of the Collector (a literal child, mind you), she repeatedly attempts to convince him that they can remake the Boiling Isles into something bigger and better, but he pays no attention to her, knowing how much of an meanie she is.
- She made Alador work nonstop against his will, but used horrific tactics to do so:
- She thought it'd be a good idea to threaten him with forcing Amity, Emira and Edric to carry out all the work, even though they weren't old enough to get a job at the time considering they were KIDS.
- When Alador was sick with the flu, she kept forcing him to work rather than letting him take the day off, which could have put her and all the staff in danger of getting ill around Alador since he was literally sick.
- She fired half of Alador's team but expected them to work at the same pace as before, leaving Alador with very little time to be with his family, which had a negative impact on their kids in the process.
- Her husband Alador does all of the hard work while she can't make any effort on her own, showcasing her lack of talent other than doing a lot of talking.
- She tried to expel Willow from Hexside for no reason just so she could maintain her control over Amity and social status, even though her daughter clearly liked Willow.
- When Amity defied her mother's expectations, she stupidly expelled Luz, Willow and Gus from Hexside, which is not only petty, but would've prevented the three from having successful futures without a place they could go to learn and study.
- She tried to falsely advertise the Abomaton 2.0's effectiveness. Even if this succeeded in getting people to buy it, they would have realized its flaws and demanded their money back, possibly even suing Odalia for false advertising.
- She tried to have Luz killed by the Abomaton 2.0 even after she and Alador told her that the new robot was proven to be strong, making her attempted murder of Luz pointless.
- She fell for Belos' lie that she would spared along with her family should she assist him in his plan to wipe out all witches and demons on the Boiling Isles, meaning she risked causing her own death since the genocide would have definitely killed her.
- After learning the truth about the Day of Unity, she admitted to keeping the true purpose of Belos' plan a secret to keep her family under her control, which proved to be the last straw that prompted Alador to turn against her.
- Her betrayal of her family came dangerously close to getting them killed as the airship they were on got shot down as a result.
- She ended up getting delegated to the Collector's maid (showing she got outplayed by a CHILD), and she made futile and superficial attempts to encourage him to change the Boiling Isles, only for the Collector to completely ignore her.
