“ | In life, you've got to make hard decisions. And sometimes, you've got to punish the animals out there. It's kill or be killed; the old and the weak are doomed. All manners of scum and sickly minds and dirty bodies and cockroaches, doing everything in their power to rob the white man of what he's earned. It's on us to straighten out the queer. It's on you. | „ |

“ | So what? Wife made a living bemoanin' me, and raised a boy into a murderer. Well, I always saw you for what you are: ten pounds of shit in a five-pound bag. | „ |
~ Rip's response when B.J. calls him out on selling Zofia out. |
Rip Blazkowicz is one of the two overarching antagonists (alongside Adolf Hitler) of the Wolfenstein franchise, serving as the secondary antagonist of The New Colossus. He is the horrendously abusive father of B.J. Blazkowicz.
Although Rip doesn't have as much screentime as Deathshead or Frau Engel, he is quite possibly BJ's most personal enemy to date for making his childhood a living Hell as well as directly causing the death of his kind-hearted mother Zofia.
He was voiced by Glenn Morshower.
What Makes Him Pathetic?[]
- He's very anti-Semitic (even though he married a Jewish woman), racist and homophobic.
- He's a corrupt businessman who scams his own clients.
- Him losing his job and being forced to live in poverty doesn't make him tragic in the slightest, seeing how most of his actions isn't even motivated by his poverty and the narrative never once paint him in a sympathetic light.
- He physically and emotionally abused his wife and son when the latter was young.
- He tries to make BJ kill his dog with a shotgun to make him conform to his racist ways, and does it himself if the player refuses.
- Despite being loyal to the Nazis, it's clear that it's out of pragmatism, not only because Rip's only loyal to them since his mindset of being racist and xenophobic is identical to them, but also because of the prize money they gave him.
- And knowing his personality, it's hard to believe someone like Rip would have a second thought before backstabbing the Nazis, whenever it's out of cowardice or selfish interests, especially since previously, he had no second thought before selling out even those close to him like his wife and neighbors
- He sent his wife Zofia (and two of his former workers) to an extermination camp. He says he did so out of spite and to advance himself, but saving his own life could've been another reason.
- He tries to kill BJ himself after selling him out to Frau Engel.
- His death at the hand of his son, although brutal, is not played for sympathy at all, but instead satisfaction due to all of his crimes, especially since he still look down at his son and refuse to take him seriously despite his reputation of being a one-man army and a Nazi killer
- Although there is one scene that shows him being somewhat nice (giving his son a BB rifle and helping him confront his nightmares in the basement), it's not out of altruism. He says it himself that BJ’s screaming keeps waking him up at night and that beating the fear out of him didn't work before.
- He is a massive hypocrite due to:
- Being a racist, despite marrying a Jewish woman (albeit more out of greed than lust).
- Scolding BJ for being a Nazi-hunter and Zofia for raising him that way, despite being the one who forced his child son to shoot his dog to make him less "weak".
- Calling BJ a "candyass", only to sell his wife and many neighbors out to the Nazis for his gain decades later.
- Complaining about "getting screwed out of his earnings left and right", despite being a conman.
- Scolding BJ for having a “mouth like a sewer”, despite cussing quite a lot himself.
- Unlike other villains, Rip has no redeeming qualities, "Evil is Cool" traits or comedic moments and is taken completely seriously.
- He was so monstrous that just his presence alone is compared by his son to be equal to hell, contradicting to Zofia's presence to heaven.
What Makes Him a Pinhead?[]
- He is a failed businessman due to scamming others out of their money via selling phony ailments and foolishly losing all of the money invested by his father-in-law.
- He points a shotgun at BJ's head, trying to kill him despite his reputation of slaying entire armies of Nazis all by himself without dying or even getting injured most of the time, thus resulting in his death.
- Even if BJ didn't kill him, he likely wouldn't have lived long either way. Not only due to being a Polish-American who married a Jewish wife, which the Nazis viewed as inferior as non-Aryans, he also proudly claimed to be a Christian, a religion which they not-so-secretly hated. He's essentially bootlicking to a regime who would probably kill him if they knew who he was, especially the fact that he's the father of their sworn enemy. It's honestly a miracle the Nazis didn't kill him before his son did.
- It was only thanks to his teachings of how to use a gun to his son that he would later become famous as a Nazi killer and a one-man army, thus meaning that Rip's way of raising his son ultimately turn out to be the cause of his death.
- Even his succeed at getting B.J. killed ultimately backfire, since B.J would later get enhanced with a new body and succeed in killing not just him, but the entire Nazi party. This means that all of his victory are ultimately short-lived, as his success would only accelerate his downfall even more.
