Pathetic Pinhead Wiki

Maurice Hedgehog, more commonly known as Scourge the Hedgehog, originally known as Anti-Sonic, or Evil Sonic, is a major antagonist in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic book series by Archie Comics. He is an evil counterpart of Sonic who came from an alternate dimension where he is a sadistic tyrant.

Initially he was called Evil Sonic or Anti-Sonic due to his resemblance to Sonic, with the exception of his leather jacket and black boots, however exposure to the Master Emerald made him turn green and have expanded physical attributes. Afterwards, he became more of a recurring antagonist, proving to be a terrifying threat to the heroes.

What Makes Him Pathetic?[]

  • He has one of the most petty and pathetic motivations in comic book history, as he literally became a villain because his father didn't pay much attention to him.
  • He kills his own father and usurps King Maxx's throne, banishing him to the Zone of Silence, and rules his world with an iron fist.
  • He constantly invades Sonic's world and starts causing a lot of problems, and he doesn't just do this in the Prime Mobius, but in other places in the Multiverse.
  • Just like Drago Wolf, he is an abusive and arrogant jerk who mistreats others for little to no reason at all. He even abuses his girlfriend, Fiona, who helped him and showed affection, yet he reacts in a violent and ungrateful way.
  • Tired of Patch's attempts to take over leadership of the Anti-Freedom Fighters, Scourge knocks him out and kidnaps Antoine and makes him switch roles while keeping Antoine imprisoned on Mobius, where Patch pretends to be Antoine for a year, being indirectly responsible for Patch's actions on Mobius, such as when he kills Antoine's father and makes Sally's father, King Max, stay in a wheelchair.
  • At some point, he impersonates Sonic (a little before turning green) and very implicitly has sex with Bunnie, who didn't even know about it, which could be considered rape by deception. In other words, Scourge is practically the only villain from the Archie Sonic Universe or anywhere else in the franchise who commits rape.
  • After he turns into Scourge, he beats Locke (Knuckles' father) to near death and is only stopped by Rouge, and this could have been worse as he later sacrifices himself to stop Enerjak and if he had killed him, he would not have made his sacrifice and Mobius would be in trouble.
  • He helps Dr Finitevus in plan to make Knuckles become the Enerjak with the Destructix by beating him to exhaustion and capturing him, thus making him indirectly responsible for Knuckles' transformation into Enerjak.
  • He corrupts Fiona and forces her to betray Sonic and the Freedom Fighters, which later ends up hurting Tails and damaging Sonic and Tails friendship.
  • When he returns to his home world, he begins to conquer every part of the planet and defeat several warlords. It is implied that he may have committed mass murder and populicide, as there is a panel of him stepping on O'Nux (Alternate counterpart of Knuckles) and in the background, there is a city in flames, which is probably the counterpart of Angel's Island and Echidnopolis from Mobius. While not confirmed, it is likely Scourge is responsible for this.
  • He cowardly tries to attack Sonic while he's sleeping before being interrupted by Jules (Sonic's father in the Archie Comics universe), who confronts him and tells him to his face that he is just a coward, to which Scourge responds by telling him how his world is a world of peace thanks to his father and proudly claiming that he killed him and ruined peace and prosperity, bringing ruin and chaos. In the end, when he tries to intimidate him, he doubles over in fear when Jules confronts him and leaves in tears.
  • During the fight between him and several other hedgehogs, he runs to his throne where he transforms in Super Scourge and sadistically injures his enemies and almost kills all the hedgehogs that were there. He later tells Sonic that he was going to destroy both his and Sonic's worlds just because he could.
  • Overall, he is just a cowardly and pathetic bully who is hated, mocked and ignored by both heroes and villains.
  • Despite the absurdly high heinous standard of the Sonic Archie universe, Scourge stands out for being a realistic abuser and having a single disgusting sickening crime that's extremely unique in not just the Sonic Archie universe, but the entire franchise as a whole (which is rape).

What Makes Him a Pinhead?[]

  • He is an ineffective leader who causes his team to be defeated in humiliating ways by the Freedom Fighters since when he was Anti-Sonic, which is one of the reasons why he is kicked out of the team in addition to the abuses too.
  • He can impersonate Sonic just like Patch does but he doesn't utilize of this advantage to cause great damage in Mobius or at least try to destroy the Freedom Fighters. Instead, he prefers to use his disguise to go out with girls and shortly after Sonic returns, he is exposed.
    • In contrast, Patch causes more damage and negative impact on Mobius than Scourge ever did.
  • Despite having conquered his home world, this only happened because Moebius does not have the same level of threats that Mobius has, such as tyrants, evil scientists, wizards, cosmic entities, etc. In the end, it was no big deal, and even Fiona says this to his face.
  • During his fight against Metal Sonic, he tries to attack him in the groin despite him being a robot and obviously this is useless, but he doesn't think about it.
  • He treats his gang quite horribly and is surprised when they betray him at the first opportunity, being quite oblivious to the obvious hatred and disdain they have for him.
    • Just the idea of him leading the team again is idiotic because they clearly haven't liked him since he was Anti-Sonic.
  • The idea that he has about Sonic needing one bad day to be like him is idiotic and nonsense, as Sonic went through worse days and moments than him and didn't even think about becoming bad.
  • When he turns into a Super, he prefers to sadistically play with the heroes instead of finishing them off, and is later easily tricked by Sonic where he returns to his normal form and becomes drained and too weak to fight back and then knocked out.
    • The fact that he did not know that he would be weakened upon returning to his normal form means that he had little knowledge of the Beryls of Anarchy (alternate counterparts of the Chaos Emeralds), since he didn't bother to know an important detail that would put him at a disadvantage.
  • While Sonic took him to No Zone to be arrested by Zonic, he manages to free himself from the handcuffs, but instead of fleeing to his world and returning with his plans for multiversal domination, he decides to uselessly attack No Zone (which was already destroyed anyway) and shortly after, he is easily recaptured by Sonic and Zonic.
  • He doesn't create any escape plan and only manages to escape from No Zone Jail thanks to Fiona and the Destructix. Initially, he acts very ungrateful for their help, which makes the Destructix give up on him. The stupidest part is that he does this believing he would be safe, but no, he only pushed away those who could help him. Later, he is almost killed by King Maxx's gang, He only survives because of Fiona convinced them to help him.
  • He is pathetically weak and useless without his powers (thanks to the power-inhibiting collars that the inmates of No Zone Jail use) and is easily beaten by the inmates, unlike Sonic who is not dependent on powers and has other abilities and intelligent moments too, later he manages to fight Anti-Jeffrey but it's not a big deal.
  • Overall, he is a reckless idiot who causes his own defeat and humiliation by not thinking things through very well.
