Sheriff Nichols is a minor antagonist in the 1999 sitcom Family Guy, serving as the main antagonist of the episode "Cool Hand Peter".
He is a corrupt and cruel policeman of Dungaree County in Georgia who frequently abuses his power by arresting innocents for sadism.
He was portrayed by Ralph Garman.
What Makes Him Pathetic?[]
- He is a xenophobic cop as shown when he imprisons Peter for having a black friend by incriminating him with weed. He also sends dozens of innocent black people to labor camps so that The Warden could further abuse them.
- Uses his authority to pick on people he thinks is weaker than him. As shown with Peter, Quagmire, Joe and Cleveland as he pulls them over for no reason, asks for Joe’s badge only for him to throw it away like garbage, and then breaking the cars headlights, it didn’t matter to Nichols that these guys were trying to be reasonable and nice.
- His defeat is really undignified as after failing to recapture or kill Peter and his friends he can only cry when Joe cripples him and he is arrested again. Joe calls him out as just another cowardly bully.
What Makes Him a Pinhead?[]
- He speaks "Southern" with Peter and is too dumb to understand or negotiate with him in any other language.
- He lets Joe escape under his supervision by crying about his disability so he will look away.
- He shoots his gun sideways thinking it will help with his aim.
- He is dumb enough to let Peter of all people trick him into thinking he is his wife until he remembers that he doesn’t even have a wife.
- He caused his own downfall as he tried to arrest Peter and friends outside of his jurisdiction.
Trivia[]
- He, Rob Gronkowski and Big Fat Paulie are the only Pathetic Pinheads from Family Guy.
