Shogo Taguchi is a antagonist in the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime series.
What Makes Him Pathetic Pinhead?[]
In General[]
- While he gotten along with Kirara and Kyoya either it was not genuine or subverted as he would cower when Kyoya got killed by Hakarou and killed Keira to save his own spine.
- While he has a few "Evil Are Cool" moments they're too brief to detract from his hateable qualities.
- Although he was under Razen's control, the method being the Locking Curse used on Shogo doesn't give him moral agency issues all it did is force him to obey Razen, thus do not disqualify his status.
- In fact his own mouth had to make Razen make him shutup with it, as this shows he still has a clear agency.
What Makes Him Pathetic?[]
- While he was forced as a Otherworlder Summon enslaved by Razen as a slave it doesn't make him tragic and sympathetic for the following reasons:
- He was already not a good person as he was the leader of a gang before he was pulled into the Central World.
- Furthermore characters like Shizue Izawa and Chloe Aubert been through the same with similar if not worse experiences yet were good people.
- He planned with Kirara and Kyoya to burn the Central World down as while given the best treatment in Falmuth has but says it is garbage compared to his original world show how much spoiled and ungraceful he is.
- While he did agree with Razen to cause trouble in the Jura-Tempest Federation it was due to being forced, pragmatic and out of envy the nation of Monsters having better things than he, Kiera and Koyoya.
- He, Kirara and Kyoya would agree to kill Rimuru Tempest and take over his nation thinking he is a simple slime monster shows how much he underestimates others.
- To be fair most people underestimated Rimuru Tempest as being just a slime at the time but his is the most pathetic underestimation out of all of them.
- He would see Shion and Shuna playing on "Making Them Beg for Mercy Until He Put Them Out of Their Misery" implies he plan to rape the two Kijin women before killing them which thankfully never came to be.
- He would fight Shion in a market place while endangering the bystanders nearly and taunting her with his insults before the Holy Barrier weakens her and when he saw Falmuth's army arrives he leaves her to die by Folgen making Shogo indirectly responsible for Shion's death.
- In the Light Novel which didn't make it into the Manga nor Anime, he attacks Kaval's Party on their way to Rimuru City showing he will endanger innocents despite being assigned he still took pleasure in it.
- He would attempt to kill Geld Junior and throw insults at the High Orc calling him a "Fat Pig" while doing so, this show how cocky and arrogant he is.
- When he saw Kyoya killed by Hakarou, he would cower and go to Kirara killing her to show his own spine to get Survivor Unique Skill.
- He would boost on being immortal where he would be beaten up by Geld Junior and Hakarou played for satisfaction while shattering his ego.
- Even when at mercy he only cower and try to say it was joke only to met with a blade by Geld Junior and intended to kill him in one blow. He only avoided it thanks to Razen's inference ultimately would've been massive stress reliever had Razen not interfered.
- His death by Razen where his soul got destroyed and his body possessed by him while Anti-climatic is not played for any sympathy whatsoever.
- In the Light Novel and Anime he was suddenly killed by Razen by saying it was a healing spell but was a spell that destroyed his soul and taking his body.
- In the Manga he was restrained Folgen and Razen as he would beg for mercy which don't make him a scapegoat given his actions.
- While not the most heinous villain in work given he suffers from Van Zant Syndrome, he is one of the most hated and vile villains lacking many redeeming or "Evil are Cool" factors.
What Makes Him a Pinhead?[]
- While he shown to be intelligent in martial arts, he is incompetent in everywhere else as she shown to be arrogant and make the not brightest decisions.
- He thought it would be easy to eliminate Rimuru Tempest and takeover the Jura-Tempest Federation not aware of his abilities.
- He only won against Shion thanks to the Holy Field weakening her and when facing against Geld Junior outside of the barrier, this lead to him severely underestimating the High Orc leading to Shogo being beaten up by him.
- He was easily fooled by Razen saying he will "heal" him in the Light Novel and Anime which lead to his demise.
Trivia[]
- He is a Pathetic Pinhead Hate Sink who he ironically serves as a foil to Shion and Gobta who are Excellent Eejit Love Exalted.
- This only appilies to Shogo Takagushi himself as Razen who later possess his body is a separate person don't count as he is far more likable (still hated though) and more competent.
