“ | Justice, you f**king bitch. God, I'm gonna enjoy this so much. First you try to cancel me, victimize an innocent man because I guess that's just cool to do to white guys nowadays, but joke's on you. #MeToo's over, sweetheart, it didn't work. Womp, womp, womp. I do not respect your truth, I do not honor and cherish your story, and I do not f**king apologize. | „ |
~ The Deep's misogynistic rant towards Starlight. |
Kevin Moskowitz, better known as The Deep, is a major antagonist of the 2019 Amazon TV adaptation of the comic book series The Boys and a minor character in its 2023 spin-off series Gen V.
He is a member of The Seven with aquatic powers who is particularly well known for his perverted and opportunistic views on women, something he later tries correcting after being kicked out of the team. He is also an astraphiliac, one of Starlight's archenemies and Black Noir II's best friend.
He is portrayed by Chace Crawford.
What Makes Him Pathetic?[]
- He is by far the least competent member of The Seven and made a laughing stock due to his useless abilities.
- He is racist as he seems to believe he should get away with his crimes because he is white. He also insults Billy Butcher's accent.
- He sexually abuses and humiliates women as a way to cope with his insecurities over his gills. As examples, he humiliated his Kindergarten teacher and also sexually assaulted Starlight on her first day at the Seven (taking advantage of her said crush on him) under the guise it was needed to get into the Seven. He does feel remorse for this behavior but eventually he backtracks and insults Starlight for "framing an innocent white man" and saying he doesn't apologize or respect her truth.
- When Ashley is trying to find him a new wife to return to The Seven, he shows more interest in having a hot wife than one who can actually benefit him.
- After returning to The Seven, he is made into a butt monkey by Homelander and mindlessly sucks up to him and does all of his dirty work with no question. While his loyalty is genuine, it mainly highlights his pathetic nature.
- He lets himself get manipulated into a one-sided relationship with Sister Sage (who has to lobotomize herself just to be able to tolerate him) and grows obsessed with her, resulting in him neglecting his current girlfriend and then eventually shouting at her and letting her die after an accident.
- He forces a writer for Vought to tell him he is the best and smartest (besides Homelander) and then kills him anyway.
- He has sex with multiple aquatic life.
What Makes Him a Pinhead?[]
- While driving, he accidentally kills a dolphin he is trying to save by slamming the breaks.
- He gets himself kicked out of the Seven due to his string of sexually abusing women and it eventually catching up to him after Starlight exposes him.
- He gets drunk and exposes himself at a children's water park which gets himself arrested.
- He makes incredibly stupid and uneducated statements in his philosophical show "Deep Thoughts with the Deep."
- He is oblivious to the fact that his anti-pollution campaign on the beach is actually making the pollution even worse.
- He is too oblivious to that see he is harming children in his advertisement for liquid death, and then forces them all to smoke just to prove a point, which ends up in them all getting lung damage. This was all advertised and likely did not help him promote the product well.
- He can not seem to understand that Homelander doesn't actually like him and only bought him back to annoy Starlight.
- He tried to use a dolphin to block Billy Butcher's path on his boat, not considering that he could just ram through it.
- He fires the entire crime team at Vought just because they made bad tweets about Homelander. This significantly impacts their finances and does not go in his favor.
- While threatening Ashley, he mispronounces capybara as "Capybarnia."
- He spells Ashley's name incorrectly and cannot remember her last name when writing down a kill list, which results in Black Noir II killing the wrong Ashley.
Trivia[]
- His comics counterpart cannot qualify as a Pathetic Pinhead since he's nowhere near as villainous.
