We're not barbarians or murderers, but we have a responsibility to use our technologies and our vast intelligence to set things right. To monitor and censor the use of wrongspeak. Still... return our property, including our former employee, who will need to stand trial for his actions, and we'll let the rest of you leave.
~ The Overseer negotiating with Pax.

The Overseer is the main antagonist of the 2024 video game Dustborn. She is the leader of the Puritans, an organization of metaphysical fundamentalists, and is obsessed with retrieving a Data Key that was stolen from their facility by the Dustborn band. It is heavily implied that she actually works for AXIOM, and relies on him to do most of everything.

What Makes Her Pathetic?[]

  • Despite being the main antagonist of the game, the Overseer is a weakling who can barely do anything herself.
  • While she has a "calm and collected" demeanour for most of the game, it's revealed to all be an act, because once AXIOM (the implied true leader of the Puritans) leaves her, she becomes panicked and doesn't know what to do.
  • When she tries to kill the Dustborn band, she fires three shots from the gun she picked up on the ground. Despite firing at stationary targets, she misses all three shots, with only one just barely grazing Theo's shoulder.
  • She gets knocked out by a single punch.

What Makes Her A Pinhead?[]

  • Despite the fact that she is the apparent leader of the Puritans, she barely knows how to use her own technology.
  • She just watched the Dustborn crew break into her lab and steal the Data Key, because she was so sure that her forces would be able to stop them.
  • She claims on multiple occasions that her technology is the best in the world, yet the hologram she is speaking through lags out half-way through her speech.
  • She believes that her false position of power makes her actually powerful, making her extremely arrogant in situations she definitely should not be.
  • She can't even use one of her own guns properly.
