The Twin Chefs are the secondary antagonists of the 2017 Indie Horror video game Little Nightmares. The Twin Chefs are a sadistic couple of chefs that work for The Lady on The Maw, where they developed a love for murdering children and turning their bodies into meat. As a result, they become one of Six’s most dangerous enemies on her journey through The Maw.

What Makes Them Pathetic?[]

  • They are destructive and murderous thugs, who are confirmed to love engaging in violence and destruction (even if they aren’t very good at it), showing that they are both sadists who in-spite of their idiocy, love hurting others (especially children). As “Game Over Screens” show, when they do have children in their grasp, they murder them in pathetically vile and cowardly ways, such as cutting their heads off, burning them to death etc.
  • They spent god knows how long, working at The Maw where (to keep with The Lady’s routine) they made the bodies of children and Guests (some of the children they murdered personally after The Janitor handed them over) into “meals”.
  • They are also incredibly unhygienic and disgusting beings in general, as they serve up raw meat as “meals”, wear literal vile masks to hide their actual faces and make vile screeching noises as a way to verbally communicate.
  • During their final confrontation with Six, one of them decides to pathetically throw a bottle at Six (which he obviously misses due to his horrific aim), instead of trying physically hard enough to catch her.
  • While their behaviour does make them laughable and somewhat comedic, it doesn’t detract from how pathetic they both are, as these moments are designed to show them both as pathetic and incompetent albeit highly disturbed and sadistic child serial killers, rather than for gamers/the audience to outright laugh at them.
  • While they do love each other deep down, as they enjoy working together and even share a bed, they constantly argue and bicker over each other’s mistakes.

What Makes Them Pinheads?[]

  • Despite being so called “chefs”, they both keep their kitchen in an absolutely vile and disgusting condition (with dirt and filth everywhere, rat traps in the wrong places, leaving rotten meat lying around as well as serving said meat raw most of the time, with one chef repeatedly slicing the same part of a piece of meat over and over despite it already being sliced from the start, very rarely cleaning, leaving ridiculously high mountains of plates and leaving smashed plates on the floor). Overall, aside from The Lady’s obvious influence, it’s no wonder The Guests are implied to die as fast as they do.
  • Despite being sadists with a love for violence and hurting children, they both do an absolutely awful job at actually trying to capture Six (even when she’s in plain sight) with them looking confused when she easily outruns them, rarely bothering to actually look under tables when Six hides under them, literally throwing a bottle at Six (and of course missing because of their terrible aim) rather than actually trying to capture her in their last confrontation and behaving like toddlers in chef uniform when something doesn’t go their way. It doesn’t help, that they don’t have an actually confirmed kill count of kids who out in an actual fight against them and died trying to escape (unlike Six), when technically, The Janitor does all the work by capturing, bagging up and (if necessary) occasionally murdering sown children himself, in comparison The Twin Chefs are given their ingredients and do sadistic things to them/subject already weakened children to horrific deaths.

Trivia[]

  • They are currently the only Little Nightmares villains to qualify as Pathetic Pinheads.
  • Initially, there was supposed to be a Third Chef, although this character was scrapped from the game. It is unknown if this additional Chef would have also been a Pathetic Pinhead.
