Hal Stewart, better known as Tighten, is the main antagonist of DreamWorks Animation's 21st full-length animated feature film Megamind.

He is a former cameraman of Roxanne Ritchi who later becomes a egotistical supervillain after he was hit by the serum of Megamind in an attempt to a create a new superhero that horribly gone wrong. He is also Megamind's ultimate arch-nemesis.

He was voiced by Jonah Hill.

What Makes Him Pathetic?[]

He became evil after his crush rejected him.
His behavior is very immature and childish most of the time.
His relationship with Roxanne on his end is what the internet calls "simping", which is just pure lust and not genuine.
Even before gaining his powers, he was still a jerk, as he made a perverted "dingo" comment to Roxanne.
He throws an expensive party (or perhaps lies about throwing one) just to get Roxanne over.
When Megamind and Minion invade his house, he tells them to rob his neighbor because they have more stuff than him.
He only takes on the role of superhero to win Roxanne's heart, instead of protecting people.
While training, he destroys the Megamind figure and melts its face with laser vision out of sadism.
He cowardly begs for mercy once Metro Man (Megamind in disguise) grabs him and threatens to punch him.
He took over and tried to completely destroy Metro City, destroying many buildings and endangering thousands of people only because his crush rejected him.
While having plenty of comedic moments, they only highlight his pathetic nature and are not meant to make him very likable.

What Makes Him A Pinhead?[]

The whole party thing, although its legitimacy is very debated (considering the size of his place and how he said it to impress Roxanne), is so stupid for many reasons:
- He hired a DJ and a wedding photographer, which probably cost money, for the party, which not only wastes his money, but their time.
  - In addition, it is possible he invited the DJ for free, which just wastes the DJ's time.
- He wastes even more money by renting the bouncy house, which would not fit in his apartment.
He notably never earned any achievements in his life likely highlighting his incompetence in academics and likely other fields.
He shows Megamind a drawing that was poorly made with crayons and looks like it was made by a Kindergartner (which indicates his lack of artistic ability.)
He claims that there is no "Queen of England". As Megamind was released, as well as set at a time the Queen was still alive (although she held the title of the "Queen of Britain" instead), this shows him to be stupid. The claim is clearly meant to show how much stupid he is.
After discovering that Megamind was the Space Dad, he doesn’t understand that the Space Stepmom was Minion and not actually real and thought that Megamind lied to “her”.

Tighten is an example of a Pathetic Pinhead who is Entertainingly Detestable as his laughable antics and Jonah Hill's performance make him a love to hate villain.
