“ | This is getting annoying. Hey, Topaz, can you remind me? I mean, my memory is perfect, but our orders were to bring back these six humans. I'm just not sure. Did they specify... alive? You know, I don't think they did! | „ |
~ Aquamarine threatening to kill Steven's friends if they do not tell her where "My Dad" is. |

Aquamarine is the main antagonist of Season 4 of the animated television series Steven Universe.
What’s the Work?[]
Steven Universe is a television series that focuses on the life of Steven and his three guardians who are part of a "Gem" race. Aquamarine was introduced as the main antagonist of Season 4, despite her only appearing for two episodes in that season, with a cameo in the previous two. She returned in Steven Universe Future to get revenge on Steven because he is the reason for her becoming an outcast.
Immorality[]
Aquamarine is very ruthless and bratty. She makes threats to get what she wants, and is no stranger to mocking people.
Charisma[]
The only time she attempted to use charisma was in Bluebird, and that instantly failed because of how obvious the situation was. In her debut, she is mistaken for a small mysterious gem by Steven, but only because she was looking for someone else.
Unintelligence[]
Aquamarine does not have a high level of intelligence, using her wand assigned to her for most situations. She also thought that no one would know that she was one of Bluebird Azurite’s components, despite it being obvious, resulting in everyone knowing. She also just returned to Earth just to threaten to kill Steven’s father, Greg Universe, if he doesn’t do what they say. She obviously did not care about how she was literally fighting one of the strongest characters on the show. Not only that, but said person has multiple friends who are way more powerful than her too. She relied on her wand too much and her allies, and probably wouldn’t have managed to even nearly get revenge on Steven if it wasn’t for Eyeball Ruby helping her.
Hateability[]
Aquamarine is hated by many fans of the series mainly for being annoying. She was listed as #3 on WickedBinge's list of the worst Steven Universe characters. Her return in the sequel series did not have any impact on the show.
What Makes Her Pathetic?[]
First of all, her plan to get revenge on Steven was barely thought out. Second, she rarely poses a threat as of now unlike in Season 4. She was also portrayed seriously in her debut, having no time for nonsense, and being implied to abuse Topaz. She also has very few comedic moments that are overshadowed by her heinous acts. She also only uses Eyeball Ruby just to get revenge on Steven, and treats her as a lower life form. She was also a pawn to the Diamonds, who assigned her to the mission.
What Makes Her a Pinhead?[]
She is not taken seriously by Steven for a while because the others convinced him that she changed her ways. Steven does not find her a threat anymore, but this is not the case in Seasons 4 and 5. She lacks redeeming qualities and is in general a Hate Sink who only cares for herself and does not have intelligence.
Overall?[]
I would give a mild yes. While Aquamarine is not taken seriously sometimes compared to the other villains and massively fails the heinous standard, she is still a threat and is taken seriously by Steven and formerly Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl. Her acts are extremely petty and that is what makes her a Pathetic Pinhead.
