Beverly clearly does not realize who he's talking to... except he does, because he's seen what Franklin's capable of. So, really, he has no excuse for thinking he can get away with this.
With GTA VI right around the corner, I would like to make this GTA V character proposal for this dimwitted Hate Sink. Everyone, meet Beverly Felton.
What’s the Work?[]
GTA V is the fifteenth installment in the Grand Theft Auto franchise, being the most recent one. It’s an open-world, action-adventure game where you play as one of three main protagonists; Franklin, Michael, and Trevor. Today’s candidate, Beverly Felton, is a character that plays a role in Franklin’s story.
Who’s the Candidate?[]
Beverly Felton is a Paparazzi photographer that acts as one of the “strangers & freaks” side missions for Franklin. After mistakenly thinking Franklin was a celebrity rapper and taking photos of him, he later hires Franklin after everything is cleared up. Together, the two stalk and take photos of various celebrities in compromising positions, including Poppy Mitchell having sex, and an English princess during a drug deal. Due to his rise in popularity from all his footage, Beverly gets approached by a camera crew that wants him to star in a new reality show. Beverly’s true nature is revealed then as he refuses to pay Franklin for his services, brushing him off. Franklin can either kill Beverly to get his money, or just leave and let Beverly become the film star he wanted to be.
What Makes Him Pathetic?[]
- He claims that he is a Paparazzi photographer because “the public deserves to know the truth”, but really he only cares about fame and money.
- He has no problem assaulting people in his way, as he’ll knock another Paparazzi photographer off his bike in order to be the only person who gets the photos of Miranda Cowan in his first mission.
- In the alternate scenario where the player decides to just shoot the other Paparazzi photographer instead of letting Beverly knock him off, Beverly is briefly surprised but not too bothered by the act of murder.
- He makes Franklin film a sex tape of Poppy Mitchell so he can post it on the internet to boost his own popularity.
- After Poppy crashes her car while trying to chase Beverly and Franklin, Beverly is unbothered by the fact that Poppy might be hurt, even not minding if they just accidentally filmed a snuff film. He just says that he’ll wipe the audio.
- After being approached by a film crew who want to make a reality show about him, Beverly makes Franklin continue to do his job, without intending to actually pay him later.
- He’s a huge hypocrite, because while he claims to hate famous people because they just look down on the rest of the world, the second he gets his own reality show, he instantly does the same and starts looking down on Franklin, the guy who helped him to his fame.
- When all is said and done, and Franklin finally finishes helping Beverly out, Beverly becomes so delusional with fame that he completely brushes Franklin off, telling him to “call his agent”, and refusing to pay the guy for his service.
What Makes Him a Pinhead?[]
- Upon seeing Franklin for the first time, he mistakes him for an African-American rapper named Clay 'PG' Jackson.
- He then makes a bunch of excuses after Franklin explains that he’s not the person Beverly thinks he is, saying that he “forgot his contact lens”, that he “loves black people”, and that he “loves gangsters and gangster rap”.
- Despite knowing that Franklin is a dangerous man who is more than capable of murder, Beverly chooses to insult him and not pay him after everything.
- He thinks that his constitutional rights allow him to film anything he wants, including explicit photos of people without their consent.
Final Verdict[]
Beverly is the perfect example of a slimy hypocrite. He claims to hate celebrities because they look down on people, but he starts looking down on Franklin after getting the fame he wanted. Plus, he also chooses not to pay the man after everything, which is definitely not a smart move. This is an easy yes if I ever saw one.
Beverly Felton is definitely a Pathetic Pinhead.
