NGL, this was one character I had some mixed feelings on being here. But after thinking about it more, I'm not sure if he meets the requirements for this wiki. Permission granted by Accounty the Sequel.
What's the work?[]
I don't think you need to ask what Spongebob is cause it's quite obvious, but Atlantis Squarepantis is a special involving Spongebob and friends travelling to Atlantis after finding the medallion while also having plenty of musical numbers. The episode got a negative reputation due to filler, the barebones plot and the underwhelming music, made worse by the fact that they got the late David Bowie (A professional singer) to play Lord Royal Highness yet they never had him sing any songs for some reason. Speaking of that character...
Who is the candidate?[]
Lord Royal Highness is the ruler of Atlantis who at first was affable to the gang, but when Patrick pops the oldest bubble, he gets pissed off and sends his army to kill them. After replacing it with Plankton, he throws the amulet away in the trash to prevent anyone from coming there again.
Why he doesn't count?[]
While he is pathetic enough due to how unlikable he is and while he is quite stupid, I'm not sure if he's stupid enough considering the show he is. There are a lot of idiotic characters in the show that make him look like Albert Einstein by comparison, so much there's a What An Idiot page on it. I don't have to go in depth about how dumb Spongebob and especially Patrick are, as there are practically thousands of jokes about their sheer stupidity, but I would argue that even Mr Krabs is dumber than this guy, as he has made plenty of idiotic decisions to satisfy his greed.
In several episodes, it is shown that he is willing to sell out his best fry cook for the lowest amount of cash possible (Whether it's 62 cents or even a damn nickel), which is stupid considering the fact that Spongebob is the only reason the Krusty Krab is successful, as whenever he's gone, the place starts to fall apart. Other stupid decisions he made includes:
- In "Patty Caper", he points at Spongebob with the secret ingredient bottle, revealing that he was the one who stole it.
- In "Jellyfish Hunters", he makes the voice activation command Open and even says how to open it, indirectly causing him to release the jellyfish.
- In "Wishing You Well", he makes a wish that he was steamed with butter rather than a wish that would benefit him simply to prove that wishes aren't real despite the glaring evidence in his face.
- In "Born Again Krabs", after realizing that what happened wasn't a dream, he goes back to his cheap ways despite the Flying Dutchman saying that he will be sent to Davy Jone's locker if he does cheap stuff again. Keep in mind that this happened because he ate a rotten patty to prove it's acceptable to be sold, which would've caused a lawsuit.
- In "Buried In Time", he doesn't even notice Squidward, Patrick and Spongebob (As I said, the main reason his business is successful) in the time capsule and closes it.
You get the gist, the fact that 3 of the main characters are far dumber than him means he fails to stand out. Doesn't help that even some of the smarter characters (Like Squidward and Plankton) are prone to having stupid moments, such as how in the first movie, Squidward tells Plankton that he is going to report him to the authorities for framing Krabs as the one who stole Neptune's crown instead of telling the authorities first, causing him to be captured by Plankton and his mind controlled army, or when he was willing to feed customers undercooked chum, which led to his grandma exposing him and ruining his business in "Chum Fricassee". As for Plankton creating an army of robots set to not obey in Battle For Bikini Bottom, or when he bragged about turning Krabs into a baby right in front of Spongebob in "Goo Goo Gas", causing the sponge to call the police.
And the bikini bottomites are no better in terms of intelligence either. I mean they literally caused an apocalypse just cause there were no krabby patties. There are plenty of episodes that show how gullible and stupid they are, as they are willing to believe anything even if it doesn't make any sense (Like believing it's Flankton giving away the free Krabby Patty samples and not Plankton doing it in "Free Samples", mistaking Spongy Spongy for Spongebob in "Cave Dwelling Sponge", thinking that Old Man Jenkins is King Neptune giving the gifts in "High Sea Diving", agreed with Patrick to take Bikini Bottom and push it somewhere else cause they think it would protect them from the worm in "Sandy, Spongebob And The Worm", blaming Spongebob for yelling at Patrick when he explicitly states that Patrick was the one who got him stuck in the wringer, etc). Even the police aren't any better with the numerous episodes showing how incompetent they are.
To sum it up, Lord Royal Highness' stupidity simply doesn't stand out compared to like 85% of the characters in the show.
Verdict[]
As dumb as he is, I don't think he's able to stand out compared to most of the other characters on the show. Now it's time for him to get lost like his kingdom.
