Three monsters of SoulSnack

One is a racist lady who abuses her own driver, another is a corrupt judge who tries to attack a police captain out of the belief that he is above the law, and the last one of the trio is a rude mall cop who will assault anyone to punish them for things they didn't even do.

Hey, guys! How's it going? It's time for yet another one of my weekly PP proposals. I was originally planning to discuss Venom from Spider-Man 3, but then I wanted to see if Yomi Hellsmile from Master Detective Archives: Rain Code had a chance to count as a PP. Once again, I changed my mind and wanted to propose Yon Rha from Avatar: The Last Airbender despite my initial hesitance regarding him qualifying, before I just recently came to the conclusion that I should add more SoulSnack candidates to this site seeing that my double proposal for Jimmy and The Waiter went well a couple months ago.

Everyone, I'd like to introduce y'all to today's 3 candidates: Melissa the prejudiced karen, Phil Nelson the corrupt mall cop, and Judge Robert Montgomery the wrathful...well, judge. Without wasting any more time...

Let the discussion begin!

What's the Work?[]

SoulSnack is a YouTube channel that releases videos every week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The videos are mainly skits about real-life situations that contain a positive message behind them. In particular, the videos where the candidates originate from are "White Uber Driver Kicks Out Racist Karen. Then This Happens" (for Melissa), "Mall Cop Goes Crazy On Innocent Black Man. Then This Happens" (for Phil) and "Evil Supreme Court Judge Threatens Police Captain. Then This Happens" (for Judge Montgomery). The first one is about an uber driver called Daniel who has to put up with the titular woman and her racism, the second one is about an innocent guy who gets harassed and eventually beaten by a mall cop for a crime he didn't commit, and the third one is about a judge who engages in a fight with our favourite SoulSnack character, the legendary Captain James Porter himself, to the point where he threatens him just for pulling him over.

Here are the links to the videos:

Who are They?[]

Melissa is the main antagonist of "White Uber Driver Kicks Out Racist Karen. Then This Happens". She is a racist and entitled woman who hates anyone that isn't white and she rants about her day to an uber driver named Daniel, who repeatedly makes it clear he doesn't like her or want to take her home.

Phillip "Phil" Nelson is the main antagonist of "Mall Cop Goes Crazy On Innocent Black Man. Then This Happens". He is a wrathful and petty mall cop who picks on a black man named Clive for seemingly knocking over a display in the mall, even though he proved himself innocent.

Judge Robert Montgomery is the main antagonist of "Evil Supreme Court Judge Threatens Police Captain. Then This Happens". He is a rude court judge who takes his anger out on Captain James Porter as a result of a bad day.

Are They Pathetic?[]

Hell yes. Let's cover them one by one.

Melissa[]

Starting with Melissa, she is first seen phoning her husband and telling him that she's not having a particularly good day and she will come home soon. When she meets her uber driver Daniel, she gets inside his car and makes a conversation with him...except she reveals that she turned down multiple rides all because of their nationality and/or race. She keeps pestering and annoying Daniel until he snaps and pulls his car over before politely asking her to get out. Melissa then insists that he is a "normal driver", to which Daniel responds by asking if being white is the reason why he's normal. When Melissa confirms that fact, he is disgusted and argues with her while constantly telling her to get out of his car. Melissa hypocritically claims that he should be ashamed of himself despite being worse than him as a person, and Daniel sassily replies with "I'd say the same thing to you, but you're clearly utterly shameless!". Now losing her temper and getting aggressive, Melissa gets angry enough to raise her voice at her own driver, forcing him to start the car only for Daniel to tell her that he won't listen to her demands. Then, Daniel decides to reveal that the whole situation was captured on camera and will be used against her in court, causing Melissa to leave the car...but not without planning to call the police on him for no reason and warning Daniel that he has no idea who he's messing with. The uber driver then says that he will be the one calling the police and all of her nonsense was caught on video for the world to see before leaving a furious Melissa behind. What an undignified defeat indeed...

Phil Nelson[]

Then, we have Phil Nelson. In his first appearance, he follows Clive as he leaves the local mall before getting his attention and ordering him to go back into the mall and clean up a display he knocked down, even when Clive makes it clear that he sincerely didn't do anything wrong. Clive keeps trying to leave, but Phil refuses to let him go. It gets bad enough to the extent where Phil pulls out two flashlights and pretends they're guns to threaten Clive into listening to him while calling him a "scumbag". After that, he counts to five and starts pummelling Clive with the flashlights as punishment for refusing to do as he was told, but luckily, the hero Captain James Porter intervenes and tries (and fails) to calm Phil down while asking for the context of the current situation at hand. As the conflict escalates, Phil makes one last attempt to attack Clive before James steps in and arrests him instead as Phil continues to deny his crimes like a coward, much to Clive's relief.

Judge Robert Montgomery[]

Lastly, it's time to talk about Judge Robert Montgomery. He is first seen driving home after a bad day at work, but not without talking to his wife on the phone as he continues to drive. This catches the attention of Captain James Porter, who pulls him over to confront him about his actions and deliberate disregard for the law. The two men get out of their cars and start to have a verbal fight, with James saying that he stopped Robert because he was using his phone behind the wheel even though that's illegal and not allowed. Robert tries to weasel his way out of punishment by reminding him that he's the judge, but James, not buying any of it, still decides to punish him. Suddenly, James sniffs Robert's breath and realises that he was presumably drinking before he drove as well. Eventually, James starts to arrest Robert, only for the latter to reach into his car and take out his mallet as a means to threaten James for "messing with him". This ultimately doesn't work, as James snatches the hammer and puts the cuffs behind Robert's hands, culminating in the latter's cathartic defeat.

What Makes Them Pinheads?[]

Melissa[]

  • She made several stupid decisions even before the events of the video, as she turned down a number of rides home simply because the drivers didn't live up to her expectations regarding their nationality, heritage, skin color, and so on despite her knowing none of that should matter in today's society. If anything, she basically caused the problems that ruined her own day.
  • She stupidly thinks it's a good idea to tell Daniel that she said no to an Indian guy because she couldn't understand a word he was saying and later rejected a black driver just because of his race, leading to him getting mad at her, showing that she doesn't stop to consider whether her words will affect people or not.
  • She keeps talking to Daniel even though he not only needs to focus on the road, but also makes it obvious that he doesn't want to have a chat with her due to her unlikable and racist behaviour.
  • She snaps at Daniel and threatens him into starting his car while she was being recorded by the car's security camera, meaning that Daniel can easily use it as evidence against her in court to show people that she was abusing and harassing him out of sheer pettiness. Even worse, she completely failed to realise she was being filmed, contributing to her downfall.
  • In the end, her racism (as well as her actions) lead to her pathetically getting kicked out of Daniel's car and him abandoning her out on the street with no company at all, with nothing indicating she made up for the slip-up later on.

Phil Nelson[]

  • He blames Clive for property damage in the mall, even though he has no evidence to back it up.
  • He refuses to let Clive leave even after the latter told him that he's going to be late for work, meaning that Phil could have gotten Clive in trouble with his boss for not arriving on time.
  • He is too stupid to understand that Clive is a sarcastic man, as when the latter said that his parents are so proud of him for being the head of mall security in a tone filled with false happiness, Phil asks if he was insulting him even though he was obviously being made of. Even Clive remarks that Phil is too stupid to realise when he is being insulted.
  • He thinks that he can threaten Clive with his flashlights by merely pretending they're guns, ultimately making his threats extremely superficial and paper-thin.
  • He brutally beats Clive with his flashlights in a public car park where someone could easily see, which James did and even broke up the incident, leading to Phil's defeat.
  • He keeps lying to James that Clive is a vandal in hopes of getting him arrested, despite the latter confirming numerous times that he didn't break anything and just wants to go to work, showing that Phil is nothing more than a liar.
  • In his final moments before his well-deserved arrest, he tried to lunge at Clive to attack him when James was standing right next to him, which allowed him to take the opportunity to put the cuffs on Phil's hands and send him to jail.
  • Even after being defeated, he tries to frame Clive for the broken display in the mall even when James firmly refuses to believe him and instead silences him for the right reasons, showing that he is entirely devoid of charisma and honesty.

Judge Robert Montgomery[]

  • While he acted the way he did in the video due to having a bad day, not only is it not played for any sympathy, but he literally made his terrible day even worse due to his extreme arrogance and defiance. Even then, a bad day is a horrible excuse for being a jerk to others.
  • Despite being a literal supreme court judge, any intelligent feats or successes of his are never shown onscreen or even mentioned for that matter, and the video makes it clear that he shouldn't be in such a high position of power due to his rudeness and the lack of intellect displayed on his part.
  • He used his phone while driving back home from work and failed to see that James was watching him from the sidewalk, causing him to pull him over and interrogate him.
  • He is needlessly cold and disrespectful towards James simply because he thinks that since he's a supreme court judge, he is above the law and can do whatever he wants. What makes this more stupid is that James is the CAPTAIN OF THE MANGO PARK POLICE DEPARTMENT, meaning that Robert essentially shot himself in the foot thanks to his huge ego. In other words, his arrogance is his downfall.
  • As James points out, he knows all the laws as a high-ranking judge but rarely follows them.
  • It's implied that he's not very good at taking care of himself, which is best evidenced when he deliberately refused to take a breathalyser even when James ordered him to.
  • He takes out his hammer and threatens to attack James with it although, again, he knows that the latter is a police captain and has many realistic chances to arrest him should he break the law. He even insists that James is threatening to kill him even though that's not the case at all and he was simply pulling him over to ask him a few questions.
    • To make this even more stupid, he left his hammer unprotected in his car and forgot to close the window as he exited his car, making it extremely easy for James to pick the hammer up. The only reason Robert wasn't threatened with his own hammer is due to luck, not intelligence.
  • He had a very avoidable defeat, as James points out that he knows Robert isn't drunk and if he had just told the truth, the situation wouldn't have gotten out of hand, but at the end of the day, what got Robert in trouble is his egotism, meaning he has no one to blame but himself.

Final Verdict[]

I think all of them qualify, so I'll give an easy yes to Melissa, a strong yes to Phil, and a firm yes to Judge Montgomery. However, y'all can decide. Thanks for reading and have a great day!
