“ | My fellow warriors... I wasn't here, but I was always with you. Since then, our enemies have grown stronger. The ULF have stolen back control of Urzikstan. The time has come for us to show them the meaning of true power. This is a battle of perception. A lie flies, while the truth... it only crawls. If you control what people believe, you control the world. This is our weapon. And we will use it as a tool of war to restore glory to Russia! The REAL Russia!! | „ |
~ Makarov's speech to his soldiers. |
Commander Vladimir Makarov (Russian: Владимир Макаров), also known by his call-sign Czar 9-0, is the main antagonist of the Call of Duty franchise's rebooted Modern Warfare sub-series.
He is a disgraced Russian soldier and a former member of General Barkov's rogue military forces who is now the commander of Konni Group and the leader of the Ultranationalist Party. He seeks to restore Russia's power by getting revenge on the country's government and framing Urzikstan for multiple terrorist acts he's committed and starting a new world war. He is responsible for the theft of the ballistic missiles from Shadow Company and handing them to Hassan Zyani and Al-Qatala to use against the United States. He is also the archenemy of Task Force 141, particularly Captain John Price.
What Makes Him Pathetic?[]
- After he got dishonorably discharged from the Russian military, who was controlled by General Barkov, Vladimir Makarov formed the Konni PMC and the Ultranationalist Party, and even getting revenge on the government which shows how much of pathetic sore loser he is.
- He is nowhere near as charismatic as the OG Vladimir Makarov is, this version of him is just dull and boring.
- At the end of the game, when he holds John Price at gunpoint, he tells Price to: "Never bury his enemies alive" and when Soap stabs Makarov in the cheek, and Price tries to get up, he stomps on Price and shoots Soap in the head, killing him, traumatizing Price.
- He gets no consequences for his actions unlike the Original Makarov who got a very gruesome but EXTREMELY satisfying and deserved death when Price hanged him with his own rope. In this reboot, he gets no punishment, making him a Karma Houdini.
- He has Andrei Nolan kill Ivan Alexev all because he: "didn't trust his plan" which did not make him a badass in the slightest.
- The OG Makarov was a terrorist cell leader, while this version of him is a PMC Commander, which is a MASSIVE downgrade.
- The way he starts WWIII in this game is that he just nukes Russia, the OG Makarov committed a terrorist attack on an airport and framed the CIA for it, showing that the OG Makarov had an actual plan unlike this stupid one.
What Makes Him A Pinhead?[]
- He committed 4 terrorist attacks on Urzikstan to take it over along with General Barkov before Makarov got dishonorably discharged from the military. AND ALL 4 OF THEM FAILED.
- He talks to his men on a message app, instead of encrypting it or using his comms, which shows that we was begging to be caught. If this was real life, the entire US Military, CIA Spec Ops and Counterrorism Center agents, The Entire UK military and MI6, Or the US Marshals, FBI, Europol or Interpol saw it, he would either get arrested again, or executed on the spot.
- He couldn't get out of prison himself, so he has his men bail him out.
- He hides in an ambulance, and when TF141 catch him, instead of even trying to fight back, he just raises his hands, lets himself get captured like some common thug.
- When he is in the plane where TF141 have him inside of, he blows up an airport, WHEN THERE WAS NO ONE IN IT.
- He stupidly kills Soap at the end of the game, and not even bothering finishing off Captain Price when he had the chance to kill him, and didn't even fight back against Ghost and Gaz when they were firing at him, which would make him wanted by SAS.
- Overall, he is just a stupider version of the OG Makarov who was a better villain than the was.
