William J. "Bill" Rawlins III, also known under his code name Agent Orange, is the overarching antagonist in Season 2 of Netflix's original series Marvel's Daredevil and its spin-off series Marvel's The Punisher.
He is a very arrogant and extremely sadistic CIA operative and the leader of Project Cerberus, an operation during the war in Kandahar that specialized in eliminating targets, who hunts down Frank Castle for believing him to be the last living witness about that project.
He was portrayed by Paul Schulze.
What Makes Him Pathetic?[]
- He's an utterly sordid and slimy man who only cares about himself and is not afraid to get his hands dirty to get what he wants.
- In Kandahar, he ignored Castle's warnings in one of the missions which resulted in his unit getting beaten horribly, which his only concern is that the target is eliminated or not. This prompts Castle to punch him in the left eye (which makes it blind) with rage.
- He tortured and framed an innocent Afghan cop as a terrorist when he learned the truth about his war crimes, before leaving him executed by Castle.
- He enjoyed beating prisoners to death with his bare hands, with Russo even commenting that it sexually aroused him.
- He orchestrated the Massacre at Central Park, which led to the deaths of Castle's family, an NYPD officer and several criminals. Not to mention he did it out of petty revenge on Castle for punching him in the left eye years ago.
- He tried to sell out Russo to protect his career.
- He brutally tortured Castle to near death while enjoy doing so to the point where he thinks Castle will beg him for mercy.
What Makes Him a Pinhead?[]
- He's very stupid and incompetent, as he dismissed Castle's warnings about a potential ambush in one of the missions in Kandahar, which leads to the deaths of several soldiers and him getting punched and blinded by him in the left eye, as previously stated above.
- Speaking of which, he only sees his soldiers as grunts shedding blood for him.
- He acts all smug and tough whenever he tortures someone, but once the tables are turned, he's a complete coward.
- He injected Castle with adrenaline to wake him up after he gets knocked out just to torture him even more, which gave him enough energy for an opportunity to kill Rawlins later as stated below, showing that Rawlins is a sadist who doesn't think before he acts.
- He insulted Russo in the face by calling him a grunt, right when they have Castle in their grasp, which leads to Russo freeing Castle to get Rawlins killed.
