Yong-suk is the main antagonist of the 2016 live action South Korean film Train to Busan, which is considered the first zombie apocalypse film made by South Korea.
He is the rich chief operating officer of the company Stallion Express and is one of the many passengers aboard a train traveling from Seoul to Busan. When South Korea suddenly plunges into a zombie outbreak, Yong-suk proves to be very selfish and caring only about himself, willing to sacrifice anyone, no matter the cost.
He was portrayed by Kim Eui-sung.
What makes him Pathetic?[]
- He sacrificed tons of people for his survival.
- He had everyone believe Seok-Woo and his group are infected so that the confrontation would be off his shoulders.
- He wanted to leave a bunch of people at the train station.
- He barricaded a door in one of the train cars with most of the protagonists (including a child and a pregnant lady) with the zombies, which ultimately caused the deaths of Sang-hwa and In-gil.
- He caused the train conductor (who was trying to save him) to die to zombies.
- He infected the main protagonist of the film, Seok-woo (who sacrificed his own life to save his daughter Su-ann) which ultimately caused him to have to die.
What Makes him a Pinhead?[]
- When he successfully exiled Seok-Woo and his group, it backfired on him. His actions are what angered Jong-gil into opening the door barricading the passengers from the zombies.
- He also didn't decide to move to a train car further away from the known infected.
- When he caused the train conductor to die, he also had gotten bitten himself somehow. (This is shown close to the end of the film during his fight with Seok-Woo.
- His actions were all to see his mother again as well, Which if you think about it is a lame and extremely minor justification for sacrificing a ton of lives.
